First Time in Sagada: Kiltepan Viewpoint

I finally had the chance to set foot in Sagada. The travel time from Manila to Sagada, is around 12 hours by car. I know I had traveled longer than that when I was younger (going to Ilocos with my family).. but coming from a night shift work schedule, that's crazy! Good thing my friends and I decided to spend a night in Baguio before heading to the mountains.

Stunning. That would be the best word to describe the vantage point I had in Mt Kiltepan. A tour can be arranged so that a van will take you up, but walking around 4 kilometers is worth an experience too. I don't mind long walks for as long as the weather is cold. But I should have worn my rubber shoes, it's was a bit painful to walk wearing flip flops because of the rocky path :)

A sea of clouds welcomed us as we reach the peak. No wonder you'll see a lot of tourists armed with powerful cameras and tripods. Too bad the sun is already up when we got there. The next time I visit Sagada, I'll make sure to capture the sunrise at Kiltepan.

I saw some tourists headed for the edge of the mountain, towards the sea of clouds. So I went to take a look. I didn't go as far as other tourists did, At the back of my mind, I was wondering if they were just hanging on a branch of a tree or something. I got a bit scared, haha. Anyway, I got a glimpse of what they were looking at. If you're into photography, the feeling was like having a wide-angled lens attached to your very eyes. It was a magnificent birds's eye view of the rice terraces, mountains, and fields!

Of the places I've been to, that breathtaking view at Mt. Kiltepan is incomparable. Definitely worth visiting.

5 out of 5 stars.
